2015

Our story began

Our story began in 2015 in the basement of one of the founder’s houses. We came from a very humble beginning with no employees and a limited amount of money. 

But we saw enormous potential in the modest fashion market. So we created our first brand, BIA by Zaskia Mecca, to cater to the market needs for formal modest fashion.

2016

New Partner Merging

Had an opportunity from one of the biggest department stores for the middle-low segment in Indonesia, Ramayana, to be their supplier. We then created our second brand, ZM Zaskia Mecca, to cater to these needs. Through them, our products were distributed nationwide. 

2017

Significant growth

We were successfully the first brand that sells modest fashion in a major department store in the non-Ramadhan season. In the online field, advances in digital technology made us join the digital landscape for the first time through Shopee marketplace. 

2018

We expanded our wings

We expanded our wings to numerous Marketplace platforms in Indonesia such as Tokopedia, Bukalapak, Hijup, Elevenia, Zilingo, Qoo10, and Zalora, while actively participating in various bazaars and festivals such as Indonesia Fashion week, Muslim Fashion Festival, and Big Bang in Pekan Raya Jakarta (Jakarta Fair). 

2019

Our own eCommerce platform zmnow.id

Launched our own eCommerce platform zmnow.id, which had tremendous success as it reached hundreds of transactions on the launch day. As for our production, we also started exploring exclusive printing fabric for our collections.

2020

ZM Jelita Indonesia and BIA Islamic Journey in Europe

Launched two special collections for our brands. ZM Jelita Indonesia and BIA Islamic Journey in Europe. It was also the year where the Covid-19 pandemic hit Indonesia and paralyzed most of the business sector. We quickly pivot and shift our focus to strengthen the online channel by reducing our margin. We are glad to have made the call. When many companies went out of business because of the pandemic, our growth was at an all-time high.

2021

Launched ZM Romansa Khatulistiwa

We were delighted to have helped support the nation’s economy by employing 120 people directly and more than 2,200 indirectly. On the production side, we launched ZM Romansa Khatulistiwa collection with improved quality of products and materials. We also amplified collaboration with influencers and public figures to have greater brand awareness. And as part of our strategy to become a halal lifestyle company, we acquired ZAM, a local start-up cosmetic company focusing on halal and natural beauty products.

ZM Zaskia Mecca combines modern design inspired by the rich culture of Indonesia.

Over the years, we have launched two special collections called Jelita Indonesia and Romansa Khatulistiwa.

While Jelita Indonesia is inspired by the beauty of local culture, Romansa Khatulistiwa takes on the rich flora of Indonesia. Both ideas transformed into the luxury of a garment, creating noteworthy collections that are stylish yet affordable.

BIA by Zaskia Mecca carries an exquisite and high-quality modest fashion influenced by the exploration of Islam in European history.

Minimalistic silhouette style and modern pattern are the essences of our products that translate into an elegant and fashionable collection.

ZAM

ZAM is a local beauty company that specializes in halal, natural, cosmetics, and skincare. The aim is to provide skincare and cosmetics products that are safe for everyone.

ZAM’s products are free from paraben, SLS, and use a very high percentage of natural ingredients.

BIA - Islamic Journey in Europe

Muslim forays into Europe began shortly after the inception of Islam. Soon after the death of the prophet Muhammad in AD 632, the Muslim world expanded westwards, and within less than a century encompassed sizeable parts of what today is considered Europe. Through this collection, we want to honour the Islamic heritage and its significance in European history.

The ancient trade routes of the Silk Roads have unarguably shaped our ways of life today. The routes were not only traded products, but also helped the exchange of ideas, cultures, inventions, and religions across the world, including the expansion of Islam in the 7th century. Muslim people played a major role in the Silk Road where its interactions stretched out to the North and South routes, and even to South-eastern regions of Asia. Our new collection of Silk Roads is a dedication to this long historic journey of Islam that arrived in Indonesia that shaped our diverse culture.
